Watch Your Back – Scams Are All Over
Man alive – have you been reading or watching the news lately? It is scary out there! I mean, between all of the accounts being broken into (be it social media, bank, etc) or all of the scams, like the Marcus Evans one that I recently came across, you really have to watch your back.
How crazy is it that something as simple as making a “friend” on the internet could be considered a scam? Now, granted, I don’t generally advocate just randomly meeting people off the internet but there are a lot of places where you can really get to know somebody, spend countless hours talking to them online and on the phone and then bam – they scam you by doing something bad financially. You hear about it on the news all the time – some poor, unsuspecting person, trying to find Mr. or Mrs. Right and they get taken for thousands upon thousands of dollars just because of their generosity. It’s so sad that you have to be so careful in this day and age, but, you do. It’s really hard to trust anybody any longer – you can’t even trust your e-mail. Think about all the official looking items you get in your inbox – almost all of them are scams just waiting to take advantage of you. Just awful.
